I am a retired Mooresville High School teacher. I taught Indiana Studies, U.S. History, Civics and Government. My tenure of teaching was 40 years as a teacher (38 years @ MHS). I retired in 2004 to be "Papaw's Day Care" for my grandson Keegan...in the picture on the home page.
My wife Lynn and I have been married 46 years. She is also a retired teacher. We have two children; Jed married to Terah (Dillon) and Meghan, a libraian in the Mooresville Public Library. Jed is a deputy sherrif in the warrents division of Marion County. He and Terah are parents to our two grandchildren, Keegan, 8 and Jolie, 1.
I was a Scoutmaster for 25 years and still keep my finger in the pot by serving as a merit badge councilor for the three citizenship merit badges and am always on call for a canoe trip to one of my favorite place in the world, the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, of upper Minnesota.
In 1989 I was selected as the Mooresvillian of the Year. That was a particularly rewarding honor as my mother Marian (Davee) Adams had received it six years previous.
In February, 2007, I was elected as County Councilman by the Republican caucus to replace Sam Carlisle who moved to New York. Sam is a good friend and one of my "boys" in good ole "Dirty Thirty" (Troop 30, BSA).
I enjoyed my two years on the council grappling with the many finanacial challenges that face local government. I have enjoyed these past four years as commissioner perhaps even more. State Treasure Richard Mourdock told me once of his '"sentence" of 8 years of H*** serving as County Commissioner. It may have been like that in Vandenburg county but here in Morgan I have enjoyed a wonderful group of citizens and elected officials... people to work with who afford a great opportunity for me to serve, innovate and economize... the three legs of the my 2012 campaign "stool."
My chief reason for seeking the second term office of Commissioner is the lad on the front page and his one year old sister. . I love the people of this county, but my real constiuents...and judges... are those of the future generations. It is like planting a tree...we don't do it for ourselves.

Top: A big grin came when I got my new Kubota M7040 in January 2007. It now has over 1000 hours on it. I use it primarily for hay work, feeding cattle and removing snow. Having that cab is a lifesaver... figure I can raise cattle another 20 years...maybe more!
Bottom: Here I am with my pretty wife Lynn (Rex Nichols suggested that I "over achieved") on the deck of the Diamond Princess somewhere near a glacier in Alaska. I won the award for the most gadgets hanging around my neck... you can't see the GPS!
